The Wasatch Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo is Utah’s premier gathering of anglers, fly tyers, guides, outfitters, and fly fishing enthusiasts. Held annually at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, the Expo brings together the very best of the fly fishing community for a weekend of inspiration, education, and connection.

Since 2007, the Expo has grown into a must-attend event featuring nationally recognized experts alongside respected regional and local talent. Attendees can enjoy hands-on learning through classroom sessions, casting clinics, and on-the-water workshops, as well as explore a large exhibition hall filled with leading vendors, destination outfitters, and the latest gear in the sport.

Throughout the event, dozens of expert fly tyers demonstrate their craft, sharing techniques, patterns, and insights with anglers of all skill levels. The Fly Tying Theater, casting pond, youth programs, and Top Gun casting competition ensure there is something for everyone—from beginners to seasoned anglers.

The Expo also features a fundraising banquet, auctions, and special drawings, all supporting an important mission. Hosted by the Utah Chapters of Trout Unlimited and Fly Fishers International and staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, the event raises funds that directly support conservation and education initiatives across Utah.
