“Give a [person] a fish and you feed [the person] for a day; teach a [person] to fish and you feed [the person] for a lifetime.” Maimonides, Spanish Philosopher (March 30, 1135 – December 13, 1204).

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN, BUT SPACE IS LIMITED.

Teen Trout Camp

The program is designed for mature teenagers between 13 -17 years of age who want to learn all aspects of fly fishing. The focus of this camp is to have fun while learning and perfecting a new lifelong sport. No prior experience or equipment is needed. All required gear (rods, reels, vests, flies, line, etc.) is provided. Instruction is from qualified and experienced volunteers. This is a three day, sleep away camp with appropriate separation and supervision in cabins, dorms, or tents. All meals and snacks are included. Participants learn casting, fly selection, fishing technique, knots, fly tying, entomology, and fishing etiquette. This event is limited to 14 participants, and enrollments are taken on a first- come, first served basis. After the first 14 participants have enrolled, additional participants will be placed on a wait list in the order that their applications are received. Guardians will be responsible for drop off and pick up their child / participant at Paradise Ranch. At pick-up on the third day you will be given the opportunity to fish with your child for a few hours and, if desired, have dinner at the Ranch for an optional additional cost. All adult mentors and volunteers are required to pass police background checks prior to receiving approval to participate in the program. All are trained in working with young people and are experienced fly fishers.

Cost for this event is $300.00 per participant and payment in advance is due upon submission of this form. The cost is fully refundable if the participant cancels on or before May 15, 2024. Guardians also will need to sign a standard release form and both guardians and participants will need to sign a photo waiver as our sponsors would like the option to use any of the photos taken.

If you wish to support our cause by donating to sponsor underprivileged children, becoming a mentor, contributing equipment for the event, or if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Jason Eborn at jason.b.eborn@gmail.com.
